First person interviewed:
“I think it’s a crazy idea just because even the the dollar bill says “In God We Trust.” So he’s not an imaginary friend when the U.S. government even recognizes him as a being.”
Emphasis mine. You’ve GOT to be kidding me. Not only does this perfectly illustrate why that shit should not be on the money, but this guy doesn’t just have blind faith in his deity, he’s got this blind faith in his government such that anything it endorses has to be truth.
Second person interviewed:
“…and if a kid reads it, they might look at it in a different way. I mean, then they’re going to question their parents and it’s not appropriate for someone else to decide what their kids get to see on a big billboard like that.”
Again, emphasis mine. The fucking hypocrisy here is so thick it’s smothering me. This woman obviously hasn’t seen any religious billboards lately! What if I don’t want my (future) kids looking at those?!
AATS
I am SO glad that I live in one of the least religious states in the country. (And that my state doesn’t allow billboards.)
